Organica Oil Easeis a non -caustic, non - toxic, readably biodegradable product specifically formulated for cleaning oil storage tanks and related equipment. This proprietary blend of water - soluble non -ionic surfactants and biopolymers has a high affinity for emulsifying hydrocarbon - based liquids. This highly effective organic formulation is ideal for cleaning oil / petroleum based contaminants from storage tanks, pipelines and internal delivery systems in refineries. It allows you to drastically reduce the number of man- hours required to clean the system and additionally reduces your liability risk to workers and the environment!
Organica also offers a biologically active formulation of the Oil Ease called Oil Ease Plus. Here Organica incorporates a variety of hydrocarbon degrading microorganisms, which will ultimately bio-remediate the contaminants removed via the cleaning process. In the presence of oxygen and microbial growth stimulants these proprietary microbial species use the hydrocarbon - based compounds as a food source to satiate metabolic functions. This permits the end user to clean the refinery system of hydrocarbon - based contaminants and ultimately remove them altogether utilizing a natural biological process. The time required to remediate the hydrocarbon contaminants is directly proportional to the level of contaminants, available oxygen and the amount of Oil Ease Plus utilized. Organica can custom - formulate Oil Ease Plus based on the specific contaminants present and their concentration in ppm.

OIL EASE: Dilute concentrate 1:25 /1:50 depending upon level of hydrocarbon based liquids present. Mix thoroughly to create a homogeneous mixture and apply to surface utilizing a low- pressure sprayer. Allow 30 - 60 minutes for reaction time then remove utilizing conventional methodology. OIL EASE PLUS: Follow the same steps as prescribed for Oil Ease. Once you have completed the cleaning process collect the sludge from the bottom of the tank and follow one of the following environmentally responsible methods to remediate the sludge:
1) ACTIVE COMPOSTING: take the sludge and incorporate into a compost pile containing organic materials. The microorganisms and microbial growth stimulants will begin to biodegrade the pile (including the hydrocarbons). In order to expedite degradation maintain a 30:1 carbon to nitrogen ratio, keep pile moist and turn frequently. The hydrocarbon based liquids will eventually degrade into carbon dioxide and water during the composting process. The composted material can than be utilized in ornamental flower beds to enrich the soil.
2) DRUM COMPOSTING: take the sludge put it into a drum and aerate the contents. With proper aeration the entire contents will biodegrade (hydrocarbons & Oil Ease). Essentially you will be left with 60% cell mass from the microbial component and 40% carbon dioxide and water.
In both instances the degradation time will be determined by how intensely the composting process is maintained. The Active Composting method will be dependent upon the carbon to nitrogen ratio, moisture level and frequency of turning pile. In the Drum Composting method the primary variable is the amount of aeration provided. In both methods you will ultimately biodegrade the hydrocarbon contaminants!
